DeSales Community Development is a community-based nonprofit that advances the long-term well-being of St. Louis neighborhoods by addressing disinvestment, expanding affordable housing opportunities, and maintaining housing stability. Our work helps ensure neighborhoods remain stable, diverse, and livable across generations while strengthening the long-term stability of St. Louis as a whole.
What We Do:
Create affordable housing opportunities through historic preservation and compatible infill development
Ensure residents' needs are met and properties well-maintained through socially responsible property management.
Connect low-income residents to essential resources through Community Services Coordination
Promote vibrant and thriving neighborhoods.
Development is not enough. Long-term management ensures the success of affordable housing.
DeSales believes that sound property management is essential to the health of many urban neighborhoods, especially those with a high proportion of multi-family housing. To meet this need, in 2004 DeSales formed its own property management company, Fox Grove Management (FGM).
Houses don’t make a community. People do.
DeSales believes that engaging with a diverse array of neighborhood residents is an essential part of our work in housing and economic development. We know that we can’t have a thriving community without empowered and connected residents. We work to meet the community’s identified needs through a number of community programs.
