MSW Practicum Student
DeSales Community Development’s Community Services Coordination team is seeking Master of Social Work practicum students for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and/or Spring 2027.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Community Services Coordination (CSC) Practicum student will be enhancing services provided to the clients by observation, contribution, and co-facilitation of Community Services Coordination programming. Practicum students will have the opportunity to:
Work directly with the CSC team and residents of DeSales affordable housing on case management, resource referrals, and our in-house eviction prevention program.
Collaborate on design and implementation of monthly Resident Resource Nights and resident communication, including partnering with local service providers.
Assist with program evaluation and reporting, including conducting resident surveys and focus groups.
Support DeSales’ neighborhood engagement programming and partner with CSC team on representing DeSales at community engagement events that promote neighborhood cohesion and resident involvement.
Research and help implement best practices to strengthen CSC programming. .
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled in a Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or university
Ability to work a minimum of 16-20 hours a week in Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and/or Spring 2027
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a diverse range of clientele with transparency, confidentiality, and respect
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Interest in community development, including affordable housing, resident services, and neighborhood engagement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
